So, I just got done playing through the Dungeon Siege III Demo on Steam. Amazing game since the older Dungeon Siege games. The feel is awesome, the controls are great, and so is the inv. system.

If it's as good as the others it will be on my wish-list for next year...

I'm not liking the controls because of how they handle movement, but then again I'm not used to that style of controls. I'm used to diablo old dungeon seige games.

So...
The graphics are great, and I was afraid it wont run on my computer, as I have the minimum requirements, but it run smooth. The story seem generic RPG game, but, its just a start, I hope it will be good.
The controls are a bit awkward for me, I am more used to other games, either diablo control, or dragon age control - but they try to mix the two, so the control are feced up, and you cant customize the keyboard either, at least not in the demo. Nice sound but no ambient sound (like birds or water).
The gameplay is few parts for me:
* You can choose classes so you must have some sort of variety, so it must be good, however you can't customize your champion too much. He have a background story and a class and thats it, not even look change or anything like that.
* If you are going RPG style with in depth text.. well - it didn't felt just that, it felt too flat. In dragon age demo you could feel the depth of it all. They needed to decide if it is a RPG or Hack & Slash.
* Gameplay looked soooo much like Diablo 3 videos. You do not regenerate mana, only from attacks. You collect from enemies orbs of life, mana, and power, mercenary system, equipment system...
* It was fun to play but if only I could edit the controls. I don't doubt for a second though that it would be hell of a fun to play with friends online.
So after all the bashing, I need to remind myself that this is just a demo, and a few things will be different in the retail =]
I will probably get it for the multiplayer.

I still haven't gotten my $30 out of DSII... (I'm looking at you, Az... and whoever else we were supposed to play with.)
@ Phoenix: Dragon Age was the most generic RPG I have played in my life. This is including NES and browser games. But it was done well, so it was worth playing. I hope this is the same way. Lack of customization is a weak point, I very much like being able to customize my character; the worst is when you can't even change the name (ME, I'm looking at you...). I have a hard time complaining about controls because I've never had any real problems with controls past the first hour of a game or if it's been several months since I played.
A new RPG that isn't an MMO is rare enough that I tend to give them the benefit of the doubt more often than not. I've played some RPGs with glaring flaws (like not being able to see enemies more than 50 feet away when your bow can shoot 150 feet or more), but I generally enjoy them regardless.
I have hope in a decent game, the others were good, so I'll keep my spirits up unless it falls in the garbage pile.

Well sexy, if you are thinking of buying it, just try the demo first.
I agree - there are not a lot of RPGs around that are not MMO - but this does not look like an RPG. As I said, I hope the demo is way different then the real game, but I highly doubt it.
It feel like a console port in controls, and as for dungeon siege - it goes only by name, no role play in the demo. Just hack and slash with text.
I had high hopes but after playing again with the 2nd class (you have two classes in the demo) I saw it was about the same.
I keep saying to myself, this is just a demo.
But if not - I can always spend my 50$ on some other multi player game that I can play with you.

Honest opinion
Too short
The camera for Coop is just shit
not much you can do
Controlling is still from the 2000 or earlier ....
Bugs bugs there are bugs all over the places
The price is soooo overpriced

I played through this at a netcafe.... terrible game. The camera angle is frustrating as hell... you can shoot far away but can barely see whats happening infront of you, there are 2 camera modes and one is even worse. The controls are clunky and the graphics are repeated all over... your char picks up 10000000 drops and can only use about 10, which is annoying as u keep having to empty inventory of useless stuff. Characters you cant change name or anything... you get to choose out of 4 and thats it no customisation, and its the same story pretty much. Really glad I didn't pay for this game.
Just my opinion... some people may love it but I doubt it unless you have very very low expectations of game developers.
